Why

Why do I design?

Not only have I found a deep sense of purpose in my passion for design, but I’ve discovered new pieces of myself through the practice.

There’s a subtle feeling of electricity or excitement when I watch my designs unfold into something beautifully tangible. Tapping into the “Why” behind that excitement is what has added a new piece to my identity puzzle, as a designer and an individual. That excitement has been a byproduct of feeling powerful and capable! A few words I’ve rarely been able to identify with in my life.

This is what has been so enchanting.

This is part of my deep rooted “Why”.

I want to recreate that opportunity for someone else… It’s too good a feeling not to share... especially for anyone who has felt stripped of their own personal power. I want my clothes to create the narrative of strength in feeling beautiful.

My own personal “power suit” includes red lipstick, heels, and an ultra feminine dress. It’s a combination of fearlessness and soft femininity that refuses to go unnoticed in a room. When I’m in my dress... I feel in my element. Channeling a bolder version of what I’d thought I was capable of and I love it.

I’m embracing the story line that my inner designer wants to be seen.

She wants to make other people in this world feel powerful and inspire a moment where they take up space. Where they are seen.

That’s my “Why”.

To find a future where I can design and inspire that same moment for other people… that’s my dream!
